Rainbow Essence was founded by Wendy Simmons, a Registered Midwife, working with premature babies for over 20 years.

Like most of us, she was using skin care products in her daily life without realising the potential, harmful effects of some of these products containing toxic chemicals. Once she realised that the products she had always considered safe were in actual fact potentially harmful, she decided to do something about it.

She started off making natural hand creams for her colleagues at work, as nurses notoriously have dry hands from frequent hand washing. Soon, family and friends were buying her natural skin care products and Rainbow Essence has grown from there.

She has since completed an Aromatherapy course and has gained knowledge through Workshops, Skin Care Courses, Seminars and continuing mentoring from professionals with a scientific background.

The name Rainbow Essence was inspired by Wendy’s stepdaughters, Chloe and Katie, who have constantly brought colour and sunshine to her life.

The Rose logo is a dedication to her mum, Pamela, whom her family lovingly remembers as their English Rose and whose strength and determination in life lives on through her daughter.

Wendy's sister, Sally-Ann has also had input into the setting up of Rainbow Essence and her support has been invaluable.
